1.     Introduction

Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd and its affiliates (“HIKVISION”, “we”, “our”, “us”) provide following services for use in conjunction with various HIKVISION products (“Products”): (1) HIKVISION user website and user accounts that may be accessed at www.hik-connect.com, and all associated sites connected with www.hik-connect.com, excluding any third parties’ sites (the “Website”); (2) software applications that can be downloaded to a mobile device (“Mobile Apps”) including, butnot limited to Hik-Connect; and (3) any services available on the Website and Mobile Apps (“Available Services”). Collectively, the Website, Mobile Apps, and Available Services are referred to as the “HIKVISION Services.” this includes the 4G IoT Data Service, which is provided separately by Hikvision Europe B.V..

This Privacy Policy explains how HIKVISION handles the collection, storage, and disclosure of information, including personal information, regarding HIKVISION Services. It also applies to any information we collect from the operation and use of Products we sell while connected to HIKVISION Services and any other HIKVISION Services that link to this Privacy Policy.

You will need to register or maintain an account via the Website or Mobile Apps to access HIKVISION Services. For the purposes of seeking to provide you with a better experience, to improve HIKVISION Services or otherwise where you have consented, your existing account may also allow you to access additional services provided by HIKVISION through the Internet and/or mobile applications without requiring a new registration. You may also from time to time ask us to migrate or export your personal information contained in one service to another service, where such migration option is available. Certain HIKVISION services may be governed by their own specific privacy policies, and you are advised to read this Privacy Policy together with any applicable service-specific policy before using those services. We are committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality and security of your personal information by complying with applicable laws, and we require our employees and agents to uphold these obligations.

In Guest Mode, users are not required to register a HIKVISION cloud service account via email or phone number. Instead, a temporary account is automatically generated within the mode. Under this mode, for example, once the camera is powered on and connected to a public network, users can add the device to their temporary account by entering the camera’s static public IP address, username, and password directly in the application. This enables you to view live video stream and manage your device through Mobile Apps. Data transmission and processing between the Hik-Connect application and the added device occur directly over the public network without passing through HIKVISION’s cloud servers. As a result, HIKVISION has no access to operation logs or other information associated with the device under this account. All operation logs are stored exclusively in the local storage of the user’s mobile device.

We may modify this Privacy Policy at any time, provided certain provisions are incomplete, outdated, or reasonable. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you at the email address associated with your account or by providing a notice on the Website or Mobile Apps.

By using HIKVISION Services and Products, or as otherwise permitted under applicable laws, or as otherwise permitted under applicable laws,  or other acting permitted by the applicable laws, you are deemed to have read, acknowledged and accepted all the provisions stated in this Privacy Policy, including any subsequent updates to it. In order to comply with applicable laws, including local data protection legislation (e. g. General Data Protection Regulation in the Europe Union), we will request your prior express consent where required for specific types of processing (e. g. providing marketing materials to you). Furthermore, we are committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality and security of your personal information by complying with applicable laws, and we require our employees and agents to adhere to these obligations.
